I started working for Jack Clock in October 1986 and the following April I received my Insurance license. Prior to the end of 1986 I had my Real Estate license as well. In Feb 1997 I went back to school and got my Brokers license and was an Associate Broker until Jack’s death in November 2008 and I then became the Broker of his firm. In January 2009, I purchased this business from Jack Clock’s family. He was a great teacher and I learned so much from him.
I came to Larned in December 1982 when I married my husband. At that time I went to work for his mother who owned her own restaurant. Jack ate lunch in her restaurant and we got acquainted and became friends. He, and Sandy Moffet at the time, were look for a Secretary and I applied for the job. At the time Jack was not quite sure how long I would be around. He thought I would not be with him more than one year so that was always a joke between us. It has been a very interesting career, one I would not have predicted I would be in, but also very enjoyable and rewarding. I get to help people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I also help them with some of their financial paper work if they ask. The main thing is to help them make the best choice for their family. I enjoy garden/lawn work and just being outside. My husband does a great deal of the cooking (he is really a much better cook than I am) so it frees me up to work in the yard. We have a lab and I enjoy taking him for walks or I guess really he walks me might be a better way to put it. I also enjoy hunting in the fall and fishing in the spring. We spend some time in the mountains as our jobs allow. |
